Program descriptions
Outpatient services HRC provides assessment, individual, group and family therapy, case management and advocacy for persons of all ages. Services are available to both those with mental illness and/or emotional difficulties as well as those addicted to gambling, alcohol and/or other drugs and their family members. We provide assistance to those suffering as the result of a violent crime, and have structured programs for those people court ordered to treatment due to sexual offenses and family violence.
Substance abuse prevention Community-Based Substance Abuse Prevention provides current evidence-based programs that have measurable outcomes. Prevention professionals utilize best practices for prevention activities within each community. Prevention strives to include various community segments in collaborative efforts such as CAMA, Inc. for the betterment of the individual and groups regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other drug issues.
Residential services HRC offers varied levels of residential support from 24-hour care in a family-like atmosphere in small group homes to “as needed” staff support for individuals in their own apartments. Consumers are assisted in living as independently as possible and receive assistance in such things as housekeeping, personal care, budgeting, laundry, shopping, and cooking as well as learning to become active members of the community.
Active treatment This program provides basic life skills training based on each person’s unique potential in such areas as: daily living skills, communication, socialization, safety, community awareness, academics, and vocational skills. Many participants also have the opportunity to earn paychecks through on-site work contracts.
Vocational development HRC provides various levels of vocational programming from Assessment through Placement for persons with disabilities. Consumers may develop work skills and interpersonal skills while participating in paid work experience and taking job skills classes which include choosing, obtaining and retaining a job. Consumers may also be placed in community based jobs and receive training as needed from a job coach in our Supported Employment Program.
Respite This service provides trained personnel to care for developmentally disabled individuals in the family home at no cost to the family, so the family can have relief from care giving. The HRC staff provides educational and recreational activities individualized to the consumer’s need.
