(EYS)

The services are strategically designed to reduce barriers to treatment, increase offender compliance with court orders and probation guidelines, and increase family member involvement.  The EYS initiative uses in-home services, transportation supports, and creative incentives in combination with collaborative community linkages and the skillful application of evidence-based therapeutic techniques

The EYS Initiative’s key objectives are to:

1. Expand community linkages, outreach, and interactions with the Courts and Probation to improve the intervention outcomes for at-risk adolescents through supports, incentives, and accountability.  It is the responsibility of the EYS staff to ensure the thoroughness and effectiveness of communication between all entities involved with the EYS initiative participants. Included among the key stakeholders are family members, therapists, case managers, probation officers, judges, and school counselors.

2. Provide barrier free access to services and incentives to youth and their families for appropriate involvement and court compliance.

3. Improve treatment outcomes and reduce recidivism by engaging at-risk and delinquent youth and their families in intensive individual and group interventions based on evidence-based models such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as increasing the frequency of services provided in natural settings.

4. Through the collective impact of the EYS initiative, reduce the delinquency, youth substance abuse, and domestic violence rates in Edgar and Clark Counties.
